Wizard Mountain
Located in the Bala mountain range, the last foothills of the Andes, it’s a majestic steep mountain that gets its name from its proven strange behavior such as sudden climatic changes, strange noises, etc. A sacred place to the Tacana natives, it’s a key place in their cosmology: their creation myth says it’s the place where humanity was born. Many ayahuasca vision quest ceremonies are still carried out next to this magic mountain today. Its close location to Rurrenabaque makes it an ideal place to visit the Rainforest and since no boat is needed to get makes it an economic option. Specialties of this place are its viewpoints and swimming ponds under clear water waterfalls.

Code B1 Wizard Mountain. Full Day: It’s the best option if you only have one day to spear. We cross Beni River to the town of San Buenaventura. You will pay a bs10 entrance fee. We take a car to the beginning of the trail. At noon you arrive at a viewpoint where you will have a prepared box lunch. Along the way back you will get a detailed explanation of the plants in the forest and the ecosystem, about the Tacana people and their ways of living. For this trip we recommend to leave early in the morning to get the most out of your day.

Code B2 Wizard Mountain 2 days 1 night
Day 1: We walk all day watching for animals to a place next to a stream where you will set camp. You eat your prepared lunch. The cook will stay to prepare dinner while the guide takes you to the Mountain View point. On the way back he will explain about plants and the ecosystem. Dinner. After dinner you will do a Ch’alla ceremony. You can choose to walk at night to search for animals.
Day 2: Dearly morning hike optional. Breakfast. Visit to the waterfalls that morning. Time for swimming. Hike back to camp to have lunch. Return to Rurrenabaque after 5:00pm.
Notes: Distances to Look Point and waterfalls is long and time is short. You must walk fast and will have little time to stay at each place.

Code B3 Wizard Mountain 3 days 2 nights: Same as the 2 days 1 night, but with more time to do each activity and to stay in each place. We recommend this amount of time to enjoy this place as it should.
